Stop Scorning Dembele!

“The fans deserve a 10 out of 10, his support was brilliant throughout the game. But I want them to support Ousmane too. I will ask them to stop booing him,” said Xavi.

Barcelona fans did give an unsympathetic welcome to Dembele. When his name was announced by stadium officials, fans greeted him with whistles and jeers.

Barcelona fans’ dissatisfaction with Dembele may be related to events during the January 2022 transfer market. Dembele refused a new contract, the club tried to sell him, but failed to reach common ground with other clubs.

Want to Play Dembele
Despite the complicated situation regarding his future, Xavi still needs the services of Dembele. In fact, Xavi has plans to play Dembele in the duel against Atletico. However, Dani Alves’ red card changed that plan.

“The idea was that he played in the second half, but I decided to do something else because of the red card and the way the game went. The situation on the pitch led me to choose another path,” said Xavi.
