Venom 3 Starts Development by Sony Pictures!

Sony Pictures has released Venom: Let There Be Carnage in 2021, which is the second solo film for the antihero, played by Eddie Brock. This film does still get a “rotten” score from critics like other SSU films, but Let There Be Carnage gets quite a positive response from ordinary audiences. Therefore, it is not surprising that Sony is interested in working on a third film from the antihero.

Launching The Direct, Sony Pictures announced that they have given the green light for the production of Venom 3 through CinemaCon 2022. Unfortunately, Sony has yet to reveal further about the third solo film from its arch nemesis Spider-Man. This is because the film project is currently still in the development stage, so the script has not yet been completed.

The film Let There Be Carnage ends with Eddie Brock’s identity being revealed as Venom and making him a fugitive. Something quite surprising happened in the post-credits section of the film when Eddie was stranded in the MCU universe. Eddie and the symbiote also briefly appeared in the mid-credits of Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) before finally returning to the SSU universe.

It could be that the Venom 3 storyline will later be related to the existence of the Spider-Man figure in the SSU universe. Some time ago Tom Hardy also gave a hint by saying that the multiverse concept opened up opportunities for this to happen. Moreover, the multiverse also some time ago succeeded in moving Vulture from the MCU to SSU so that the emergence of Spider-Man was possible.
