Valentino Rossi was really excited to see Ducati racer Francesco Bagnaia become the Aragon MotoGP champion, Sunday (12/9/2021). According to him, it was a moment that a racer would never forget.

Francesco Bagnaia is one of Valentino Rossi’s students at the VR46 Riders Academy. Not surprisingly, The Doctor was involved in the euphoria when the Italian racer carved out his first victory in MotoGP.

The victory also tasted sweeter because it was achieved after Bagnaia had a fierce duel with Repsol Honda racer, Marc Marquez, until the last lap.

Pecco, as Bagnaia is called, became the second driver from VR46 Riders Academy to win in the premier class. The first driver was Franco Morbidelli.

Rossi is delighted with Bagnaia’s long-awaited victory. The win came after previous disappointments such as falling in the lead at Misano last season, Mugello this season, and experiencing tire problems while being favorites in the other series.

“I want to say first of all that I am very, very happy for Pecco personally,” said Rossi, who finished 19th for Petronas Yamaha.
