Francesco Bagnaia said that the victory he won at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit he dedicated specifically to Valentino Rossi, who ended his career in MotoGP.
Francesco Bagnaia and two of his factory partners, namely Jorge Martin and Jack Miller, took control of the Valencia MotoGP podium . It was the first time for Ducati to climb three podiums simultaneously in history.
Starting the race from second position, Bagnaia had lost first place to Miller and Joan Mir. However, the Ducati racer was successful in reclaiming the leading position.
In the end, Bagnaia managed to maintain the first position until the closing lap. It was his fourth win this season.
After the race, Francesco Bagnaia said that it was the best way to celebrate his compatriot, Valentino Rossi , who decided to retire from MotoGP as of today, Sunday (11/14/2021).
For you, Vale!
Just like the VR46 Academy racer, Bagnaia also wears a replica helmet as a tribute to Rossi when he won the 2004 MotoGP title .
“Yes, it’s a great victory! This is a way of celebrating, with Rossi, and with this helmet, standing on the highest podium, makes me happy,” Bagnaia said after the race.
“It’s been an impressive year. We learned a lot, we are more competitive. Next year we will fight for the title.”
“But for now, the only thing we can do is celebrate with Valentino Rossi. He is a friend, a brother, who is always ready to help us riders at any time.”
