Here’s a trailer for Finch, the new sci-fi film starring Tom Hanks that will enter the Apple TV+ catalog on November 5, 2021.
The Coronavirus pandemic has caused many films not to see their premieres in theaters, which were released live on the streaming service. One of them is Finch, a new sci-fi film that will be released exclusively in the Apple TV+ catalog.
Directed by Miguel Sapochnik (House of the Dragon, Altered Carbon, True Detective), the film revolves around Finch, one of the last survivors in a post-apocalyptic land who creates a robot named Jeff for his dog to accompany him after he dies.
In order to carry out his plan successfully, Finch must teach the robot Jeff the values of love, friendship, and the meaning of human life. In this way, little by little Jeff’s behavior became human.
After seeing the official Finch poster a few days ago, Apple TV+ has released the first Finch trailer which you can watch in the following video.
The Finch cast is helmed by actors Tom Hanks (Pinocchio, Elvis, Big World News), Laura Harrier (The Starling, Warning), Caleb Landry Jones (Nitram, The Outpost), Samira Wiley (Yuba County News, Equal), Skeet Ulrich (Riverdale, #Freerayshawn) and Lora Martinez (Soldier of the Dead, Those Who Wanted Me Dead).
The Finch movie will land in the Apple TV+ catalog starting November 5, 2021. In the meantime, here we recommend some movies and series worth checking out for Apple TV+.
Apple TV+ today released the trailer for its upcoming original feature film ‘Finch’, starring Tom Hanks.
Worried that he might die soon, Finch builds a robot to take care of the dog instead of leaving him alone. The three set out to find a safer place to live. Watch the trailer below…
‘Finch’ was originally titled ‘BIOS’ and was meant to be released theatrically by Universal last year. However, the pandemic’s disruption to theaters led to the BIOS being pulled from the schedule. After several delays, it was sold to Apple earlier this year to become the original streaming title.
Apple renamed the movie ‘Finch’. It will debut on the streaming service on November 5.
Last year, Apple TV+ saw a lot of success with the acquisition of another Hanks film that was originally intended for theaters; Greyhound war movies. Before Ted Lasso took over, Greyhound was believed to have been Apple’s most popular title, topping the TV App Trending chart for months.
Apple will likely be hoping for a repeat audience with Finch, as well as some potential Oscar nominations. Other original films from Apple TV+ coming this fall include Swan Song, another sci-fi adventure, and The Tragedy of Macbeth.
