Tom Holland: why he quit social media

British actor Tom Holland, the incarnation of Spider-Man on the big screen, has just announced that he is leaving social networks in order, he says, to preserve his sanity.

Spider-Man  is no longer on social media. Actor Tom Holland , incarnation of the superhero on the big screen, and who had largely neglected Instagram and Twitter in recent weeks, has just announced that he is stepping back from both platforms.

“I’m taking a break from social media because I find Instagram and Twitter too stimulating, too overwhelming ,” the 26-year-old Briton said in an ironic Instagram post on Sunday. “When I read things about myself online I get overwhelmed and I can’t get away from it. In the end, it’s very detrimental to my mental state. So I decided to backtrack and remove apps.”

Tom Holland, who still has 67.7 million followers on Instagram and 7.4 million on Twitter, takes the opportunity to promote Stem4, an association that helps teenagers with mental health problems. And concludes: “Thank you for your love and support. I love you all and I will talk to you soon.”

On the big screen, Tom Holland will soon play the legendary dancer  Fred Astaire in a biopic produced by Sony Pictures . He will also hold the main role of the Apple series The Crowded Room , which will see him play  a criminal with 24 distinct personalities, each of them struggling to take possession of his mind......
