1. Mission: Impossible

This big screen adaptation of the 1960s TV series has spawned a franchise that will last until 2023. In this series, Tom Cruise plays Ethan Hunt who is a secret agent of an organization called the IMF.

Under the direction of Brian De Palma, the first film, Mission Impossible (1996) created one of the most iconic moments in the franchise, with Cruise being lowered by a cable to escape a laser alarm. The entire Mission Impossible film series is actually quite captivating, but the sixth one is the best. In the film, Tom Cruise hunts down terrorists, races in Paris and London, skydives, and performs other challenging actions.

2. Risky Business (1983)

Through this film, we can see Tom Cruise in the role of a high school student named Joel who hopes to enter Princeton University. Joel is actually a good boy, but everything changes when his parents go on a trip. Because, Joel meets a prostitute and runs a “risky business.”

The film also manages to create the iconic moment when Cruise glides across his living room wearing a shirt while singing Bob Seger’s “Old Time Rock ‘n’ Roll”. This moment is also what has succeeded in making Tom Cruise become famous as an actor in Hollywood.

3. Eyes Wide Shut (1999)

This film tells the story of Bill Harford (Tom Cruise), a doctor who witnessed a party in a village that made him question his sexual life with his wife, Alice. Tom Cruise received his best reviews in more than a decade with the action and science fiction film Edge of Tomorrow. This film tells the future of Earth which has been attacked by aliens. Tom Cruise plays Major Bill Cage who was originally a publicist who was sent to the battlefield so that he was easily killed.

However, it seems that Cage is caught in a time loop, where he is sent back the day before his death and is basically mentored by the tough sergeant, then come back and learn something else.

5. Jerry Maguire (1996)

Jerry Maguire is considered the best Tom Cruise film of his career as an actor. How not, this film received very positive reviews from critics. In addition, Jerry Maguire also managed to get five Oscar nominations, including for the category “Best Picture” and “Best Actor” for Tom Cruise.
