These Characters Are Back in The Lord of the Rings Series!

Entertaiment

The Lord of the Rings is a successful movie trilogy adapted from the legendary novel of the same name by JRR Tolkien. More or less ten years after the original trilogy, director Peter Jackson is trying to bring Middle-Earth back to life with the prequel story of The Hobbit which has received mixed responses from fans. It doesn’t stop there, it turns out that the story of Middle-Earth will continue to grow with the upcoming series entitled The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

The series, produced by Amazon Prime Video, is billed as the most expensive series ever produced with an estimated budget of 1 billion dollars, or around 14.3 trillion rupiah, for five seasons of The Rings of Power which will tell the story of various events in the Second Age. , including the ring forging , the resurrection of Sauron , the epic story of Númenor , and the ultimate alliance between elves and humans . Interestingly, even though it takes place in the Second Age, here are the characters from The Lord of the Rings (Third Age) who are certain to return to the series!

Galadriel

In the TLOTR trilogy itself, the very beautiful Character Galadriel is played by Cate Blanchett through her first movie entitled The Fellowship of the Ring (2001). As a royal elf, Galadriel is the leader of the elves in Lothlórien. Besides having a very immersive beauty, Galadriel is also famous as a user of a ring of power called “Nenya”. Played by Morfydd Clark, Galadriel in the upcoming series will appear more manly in silver elf war armor, because at the beginning of this Second Age, he was an elven troop who was tasked with eradicating the remaining Dark Lord Morgoth troops.

Elrond

Just like Galadriel, Elrond, previously played by Hugo Weaving, is a character who plays an important role in the TLOTR trilogy. As the leader of the elves in Rivendel, Elrond is a royal elf who is part of the White Council and has wielded the ring of power “Vilya” for thousands of years. In the Rings of Power series, the character of Elrond will certainly return, played by Robert Aramayo. Described as an architect as well as a very ambitious politician, in the series later Elrond will be shown building Rivendell as his territory.

Silence

Appearing in the TLOTR prologue , Harry Sinclair’s character Isildur is the one who has cut off Sauron’s hand and taken the ring of One Power. Instead of following Elrond’s directions to destroy it on Mount Doom, this son of Elendil actually saved the One Ring and triggered the War of the Rings as we can see in the TLOTR trilogy . In the upcoming series, Isildur, played by Maxim Baldry, will reportedly return as a brave figure who survived Sauron’s attack on Minas Ithil and later became a human king.

Sauron

It’s quite clear that Sauron will definitely reappear in The Rings of Power series. As the Dark Lord who replaces Morgoth, Sauron will play an important role in the series, because he is the one who created the Rings of Power and made the Second Age filled with wars between the human and elven alliance against Dark Lord Sauron and his armies. Interestingly, because in this Second Age his body is still said to be intact, instead of appearing as a giant fire eye, it looks like Sauron will appear with his terrible black armor.

Other Characters

With so many interesting characters in the TLOTR trilogy , and a timeline spanning thousands of years in the series, it’s likely that more characters will return. For example, Galadriel’s husband, Celebron, whose possible first meeting will be told in the series, then the king of the elves Gil-Galad who will play an important role in the story of the last alliance of humans and elves against Sauron, and also the king of the human race Elendil who is involved. in the alliance of humans and elves as well as the father of Isildur’s character.

Those are the characters of The Lord of the Rings who are certain to return in The Rings of Power series. Because the timeline takes place long before the events of War of the Rings, it makes sense that the cast and character of the TLOTR characters will be slightly different in the later series. We look forward to their epic action in the series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power which is scheduled to premiere on the Amazon Prime Video streaming channel on September 2, 2022.
