These 6 Chelsea Players Get Worst Scores According to Whoscored: There’s N’Golo Kante!

Chelsea sits at the top of the Premier League standings for the 2021/2022 season in the 11th week. However, that does not mean all the Blues players perform well. There are players who are still under their best performance.

Chelsea summarized 11 matches played in the Premier League with 26 points. Thomas Tuchel’s men won eight games, drew two and lost once.

Chelsea’s only defeat occurred when they met Man City in the 6th match. Chelsea lost 1-0 to Gabriel Jesus’ goal.

Some players performed very well and surprised like Trevoh Chalobah, Reece Jame, Mateo Kovacic, and Andreas Christensen. But, there are also players who haven’t got their best level of play yet.

Referring to the Whoscored rating, here are the six worst Chelsea players until week 11 of the Premier League:

Kai Havertz
Position : Midfielder/Striker
Played : 10 games/573 minutes
Rating: 6.77
Havertz, like last season, started the competition with difficulty. Lukaku made Havertz lose his role as the ‘false nine’. Havertz also had time to play several different roles.

When Lukaku was injured, Havertz was always a mainstay on the front lines. He appeared quite convincing. However, the former Bayer Leverkusen player has not been sharp enough in front of goal. Havertz has scored just two goals in 10 Premier League games.

N’Golo Kante
Position : Midfielder
Played : 7 games/408 minutes
Rating: 6.77
Kante struggled to get to his best fitness level at the start of the 2021/2022 season. Kante missed almost half of Chelsea’s games. Not infrequently, he plays but must be replaced or replaced.

Kante hasn’t shown a game like last season, when he was so dominant in midfield. Kante seems to take longer to return to being a source of energy for the West London club.

Ross Barkley
Position : Midfielder

Played : 4 games/120 minutes

Rating: 6.74

Barkley recently had the opportunity to play in the first team. Kante is not fit enough, Kovacic is injured and Barkley is played. He has played in the Premier League four times.

However, the former Everton player has not been able to get his best level with Chelsea. Barkley actually provides a good option for the midfield. However, he is not yet creative and sharp enough to contribute to assists or goals.

Hakim Ziyech
Position : Midfielder/winger
Played : 4 games/182 minutes
Rating: 6.65
Ziyech became a mainstay of Chelsea in the Frank Lampard era. However, with Thomas Tuchel, Ziyech did not get the ideal role. Ziyech struggled to find his best form.

Ziyech is yet to score or assist the Blues in four Premier League games. In fact, he had only made five key passes. Ziyech’s gait has also been disrupted by injuries.

Timo Werner
Position : Striker
Played : 7 games/389 minutes
Rating: 6.46
Like last season, Werner struggled to score goals. So far, from seven matches played, Werner has only scored one goal in the Premier League. One goal scored from 11 shots released.

Although Werner’s number of goals is minimal, he is still an important player for the Blues. Werner’s movement can help Lukaku to find space. Werner can also add speed in Chelsea’s attack.

Saul niguez
Position : Midfielder
Played : 2 games/48 minutes
Rating: 5.94
Saul Niguez really performed below expectations. Initially, he was expected to be a competitor for the duo N’Golo Kante and Jorginho in midfield. However, Saul failed miserably.

Saul was taken aback by English football and struggled to adapt. Not only failed to be an option if Kante and Jorginho were absent, Saul is now also unable to compete with Ruben Loftus-Cheek who was almost released at the beginning of last season.
