The Cobra Kai series will end in season six, a continuation story from the universe, an ending that is very exciting to watch

The Cobra Kai martial arts series, which has been running for five seasons, will certainly end in the upcoming sixth season. The continuation story of The Karate Kid universe will end since the first season aired in 2018.

The Karate Kid will be turning 40 in 2024, so many are hoping we’ll get news about the sixth season of Cobra Kai soon to mark the occasion. Well, I have good news and bad news.

Let’s start with the good: Netflix has given us a new trailer confirming that Cobra Kai is getting its sixth season on the streaming service. The bad news is it will be the last. That’s right. The story of Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence is coming to an end. However, we’ve been told that this is going to be the biggest and worst season yet, so that’s something.

Not only that. Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg have also written heartfelt letters which you can read below, and it sure makes it sound like fans of this universe might get more out of it after Cobra Kai season six:

“This fandom is the BEST on the planet and we look forward to sharing more Karate Kid stories with you in the future. Because as we all know, Cobra Kai Never Dies.”

The announcement of the final season of Cobra Kai was delivered directly by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg as creators in an official statement.

“Our goal with Cobra Kai from the start was to end it on our terms, leaving the valley at the time and place envisioned,” the statement read, as reported by Variety on Friday (20/1).

“The upcoming season six will mark the end of Cobra Kai. While this may be a bittersweet day for fans, the Miyagiverse has never been stronger,” the statement continued.

The creators express their thanks and appreciation to Cobra Kai fans who continue to provide support.

They also did not rule out being able to tell various other things from the legendary Karate Kid universe.

“This fandom is the best on the planet and we look forward to sharing more Karate Kid stories with you,” the statement read.

“Because as we all know, Cobra Kai never dies,” the statement continued.

At the same time, Netflix as the owner of the Cobra Kai broadcasting rights also released a video announcing the sixth season of the series.

The video features the duo Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) who have been rivals since their teens. This eternal rivalry continues to experience twists and turns until they grow up, until it finally reaches the end in the upcoming sixth season.

Cobra Kai is a series continuation of The Karate Kid series which was popular since it aired in the 1980s. The series is set 30 years after LaRusso and Lawrence had a karate match in the events of the first film.

The fifth season of Cobra Kai, which was released last year, is also still recording impressive performances after opening with a perfect score of 100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Apart from the duo Ralph Macchio and William Zabka, this series also stars a number of new names. Some of them are Courtney Henggeler, Xolo Mariduena, Tanner Buchanan, and Mary Mouser.

In addition, stars of The Karate Kid film series such as Martin Kove as John Kreese and Thomas Ian Griffith as Terry Silver also join the series.
