Cristiano Ronaldo will return to play for Manchester United. He returned to Old Trafford after 12 years leaving the Red Devils.

Ronaldo spent six years at Manchester United. The Portuguese player scored 118 goals in 292 appearances before moving to Real Madrid.

The last time Ronaldo was dressed as the Red Devils was in the 2009 Champions League final. MU against Barcelona in Rome at that time.

Unfortunately, Ronaldo was not able to bring his team to become champions. In that match, the Red Devils lost 0-2.

Right-back – John O’Shea
John O’Shea did not leave Manchester United after the 2009 Champions League final. He still played at the club until 2011.

O’Shea then decided to move to another Premier League club, Sunderland. The defender from the Republic of Ireland played seven seasons there before moving to Reading. O’Shea retired in 2019.

Central defender – Rio Ferdinand
Rio Ferdinand decided to leave Manchester United in 2014. But at that time Ferdinand did not immediately choose to retire.

Ferdinand chose to continue his career with Queens Park Rangers. But he only played one season at the club and retired three days after leaving QPR.

Central defender – Nemanja Vidic
The Serbian centre-back left Manchester United at the end of the 2013-14 season. Nemanja Vidic then decided to venture to Italy with Inter Milan.

On 18 January 2016, Vidic decided to terminate his contract with the Nerazzurri. 11 days later, the defender announced his retirement from football.

Anderson left Manchester United in 2015. He decided to return to Brazil with Internacional.

At the club, Anderson was loaned to Coritiba. Anderson retired in 2020 after playing for Adana Demirspor for two seasons.

Midfielder – Michael Carrick
Michael Carrick lasted a long time at Manchester United. The England midfielder played at the club until 2018.

After retiring, Carrick still remains at Old Trafford. Carrick is currently on the coaching staff at Manchester United.

Midfielder – Ryan Giggs
Ryan Giggs strengthened Manchester United until 2014. After retiring, Giggs pursued a career as a coach.

Giggs worked as assistant coach to Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford. After that he was appointed coach of the Wales national team.
