Zlatan Ibrahimovic: I’m Better Than Ronaldo and Messi

AC Milan striker , Zlatan Ibrahimovic , stated that he is a better player than Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo . Ibrahimovic conducted an interview with France Football on Friday (10/9/2021) local time. One of the conversations present in the interview was about the Ballon d’Or , the prestigious individual award for the best footballer.

The Ballon d’Or trophy itself has never been won by Ibrahimovic during his 22-year professional career which is so extraordinary. The Swede was then asked whether he felt he was missing out on the Ballon d’Or because he had never won it, despite his many achievements at club level.

Through his trademark style, Ibrahimovic says that he doesn’t feel that way at all.”No, it was the Ballon d’Or that lost me,” said Ibrahimovic.

At the same time, Ibrahimovic also commented on Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi , two players who have dominated football for more than the last decade. Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi alone have a myriad of titles including the Champions League, a trophy that Ibrahimovic has yet to win at club level. Meanwhile, Ronaldo has five Champions League trophies, while Messi has won the Big Ear trophy four times.

Various titles won by Ronaldo and Messi also made them have several times won the Ballon d’Or . Five times for CR7, then La Pulga won the most Ballon d’Or with six trophies. However, Ibrahimovic does not see that the two megastars are better players than him.

“If we consider trophies, then yes, I didn’t win the Champions League.” “I don’t know what criteria they use to decide who gets the (Ballon d’Or) award because I’m not obsessed with that.”

“When a team collectively works, individuals definitely benefit from it. An individual cannot do well if the team is not solid.” “Deep down, I really think that I am the best in the world,” said the player nicknamed Ibracadabra.

During his 22 years of professional career as a footballer, Ibrahimovic has won 33 trophies from seven different clubs. Now, the player who will be 40 years old is trying to bring AC Milan to victory again in the second period at the San Siro.
