Paolo Di Canio claims: Romelu Lukaku is blunt, it’s not Chelsea’s fault if he’s barren

Former West Ham player Paolo Di Canio has criticized Chelsea’s mainstay striker , Romelu Lukaku, who has recently struggled to score goals.

This 2021/22 season, Lukaku decided to return to his old club, Chelsea. The Blues dared to spend 115 million euros to bring Lukaku from Inter Milan.

Initially, Lukaku immediately appeared extraordinary by scoring four goals for Chelsea. However, now the Belgian striker has never scored again in the last six matches in the Blues uniform.

Assessment of Paolo Di Canio
Lukaku’s dry run of goals has recently been under the spotlight of Di Canio. According to him, it’s not Chelsea’s fault if Lukaku has had a hard time scoring goals lately.

However, Osimhen has a different spirit, he is not as blunt as he [Lukaku],” said Di Canio at Sky Calcio Club.

And it’s not Chelsea’s fault, they are first (in the table) even without the goal.”

Looks like Fernando Llorente
Furthermore, Di Calcio also claims that Lukaku’s current role at Chelsea is similar to what Fernando Llorente showed when he played at Juventus.

Lukaku didn’t score. Lukaku is a functional player, just like Llorente at (Antonio) Conte’s Juve,” said Di Canio.

‘Even if Lukaku is stronger than Llorente. Lukaku works for certain types of matches.”
