Determine the title of World Superbike Champion at the Mandalika Circuit, Jonathan Rea says the track is suitable for Kawasaki motorcycles

Jonathan Rea will try to win the title of seventh world champion in the 2021 World Superbike event by achieving maximum results in the last series which took place at the Mandalika Circuit , Lombok, this weekend.

The Kawasaki factory racer’s job is not at all easy. Because he had to catch up with a 30-point deficit from the leader of the standings, Toprak Razgatlioglu.

Jonathan Rea himself is very optimistic about racing at the Mandalika Circuit . Especially if you look at the characteristics of the track, he believes it will match the Kawasaki motorcycle.

The first impression from the photos I saw was very good. It looks like the circuit will match the strengths of our Kawasaki ZX10-RR,” he continued.

No Pressure
Even though he has to determine who will win the 2021 World Superbike world title at the Mandalika Circuit , Rea believes that it is Toprak who will feel the pressure.

“I myself feel that there is absolutely no pressure. I can ride a motorcycle maximally with a feeling of nothing to lose and a clear target,” said Rea.

“There are three opportunities for us to score points, I will give 100 per cent to get as many points as possible.”

Compared to Jonathan Rea, Toprak still lacks experience competing to become world champion. But the Yamaha racer still has the advantage because he holds a 30-point gap.

Petronas Yamaha SRT boss Razlan Razali once said the name of the six-time World Superbike world champion, Jonathan Rea, is a candidate to be his team’s racer in the 2022 MotoGP.

Petronas Yamaha SRT may lose two riders at once in MotoGP 2022. Because Franco Morbidelli is the strongest candidate to fill the post left by Maverick Vinales in the Yamaha factory team.

While Valentino Rossi may retire at the end of MotoGP 2021 or withdraw to his Ducati satellite team, Aramco VR46.

“We made a list of candidates (Petronas Yamaha SRT rider in MotoGP 2022) who are not in MotoGP, and his name (Rea) is in it,” said Razali.

The situation is getting hotter, because Jonathan Rea on one occasion did not deny the issue of moving to Petronas Yamaha SRT. “Never say never to MotoGP,” he replied.

Jonathan Rea’s Response
It’s just that when interviewed by Speedweek , Jonathan Rea straightened out a comment that said: “Never say never to MotoGP.”

According to him, with that comment, it does not mean that he is interested in joining Petronas Yamaha SRT . Rea also emphasized that he wanted to stay in World Superbike with Kawasaki.

“Never say never about MotoGP, I mean in general and not in relation to Petronas,” Rea asserted.

“Of course it’s a good story (to MotoGP strengthening Petronas Yamaha SRT). But of course I will stay in World Superbike. I have a long contract with the Kawasaki Racing Team,” he added.
