AC Milan vs Inter Milan, Pioli: It will be difficult

AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli said the duel against Inter Milan will be difficult for his team because they are a strong team as well as candidates to win the Scudetto this season.

Milan is having a good season so far. From 11 matches, the Rossoneri have never been touched by defeat.

Milan only slipped once. Namely when they won a draw against Juventus on September 20, 2021 yesterday.

Milan is now perched in second place in the 2021-22 Serie A standings. The Rossoneri picked up 31 points, the same as Napoli at the top of the standings.

The Duel Against Inter Will Be Difficult
In the 12th week of Serie A 2021-22 later, AC Milan will face a tough match. They have to face their city rivals, Inter Milan.

The match will be held at the San Siro. Inter itself is now in third place in the standings with a collection of 24 points.
Inter are under Milan now. But Stefano Pioli says the duel against the Nerrazurri will not be easy.

It will be very difficult, because Inter are the favorites to win the Scudetto,” he told Amazon Prime Italia .

About Results Against Porto
AC Milan has just played against Porto in matchday 4 of Group B of the Champions League 2021-22. Competing at the San Siro, Milan could only force a 1-1 draw.

Stefano Pioli then revealed what made Milan unable to win. He called his foster children made at least two mistakes in the match.

“We could have played better, especially in the first half we weren’t sharp in decision-making,” said Pioli.

“If the opponent presses that high and defends with a high line, we have to try to get a through ball and we didn’t do it with enough precision,” he lamented.

The match against Inter Milan will take place on November 8, 2021. After that, the new AC Milan squad will compete again on November 21 against Fiorentina after the international break.

On matchday 4, they met Porto again at the San Siro. But this time Milan can pick just one point.

Milan doesn’t want to qualify for the Round of 16
After the match, Stefano Pioli was asked whether AC Milan deserved to qualify or not to the last 16 of the Champions League this season. Pioli then hinted that Milan did not deserve to qualify from the current group stage.

Because they did not achieve positive results. Pioli also hopes that Milan can be more consistent in the future.

“To deserve it, you have to win games,” Pioli said as reported by Amazon Prime Italia .

We have to be more consistent,” he stressed.

Reasons Milan Can Pick One Point
Stefano Pioli then explained why AC Milan was able to pick a point from the match against Porto. He said this could not be separated from the loosening of pressure from the opponent in the second half.

“Porto deserve credit and we deserve the blame. We should have moved and widened the Porto defence, instead we ended up going where they wanted.”

“We were more organized in the second half and Porto’s intensity level dropped,” said Pioli.

AC Milan is now only picking one point. But mathematically Stefano Pioli’s troops still have a chance to qualify for the next round by winning in the next two matches but they also still depend on the results achieved by Porto.
