10 unemployed coaches who could replace Solskjaer at Manchester United

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s position as Manchester United manager is increasingly threatened. It was inseparable from his team’s crushing defeat to Liverpool.

Man United host Liverpool in the ninth week of the Premier League, Sunday (24/10) night WIB. Playing at Old Trafford, the Red Devils gave up with a score of 0-5.

Mohamed Salah performed brilliantly by scoring a hat-trick. While Naby Keita and Diogo Jota each contributed one goal.

This defeat made the urge to sack Solskjaer again strengthen. However, to bring in a new manager is also not an easy matter.

The reason, a number of champion coaches are still tied to their respective clubs. For that, the Red Devils may only be able to recruit managers who are unemployed.

Here is a manager without a club who could be substituted for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United.

Antonio Conte

Conte chose to leave the Giuseppe Meazza because it was not in line with Inter’s management. Conte is said to be disappointed with the management’s decision to sell some players.

Conte has previously coached Juventus and Chelsea. The Italian coach even won the Premier League and FA Cup while working in England.

Zinedine Zidane
Zinedine Zidane previously managed Real Madrid. The French coach has had a flashy achievement during his two terms in charge of the Spanish capital club.

There are a number of proud achievements that have been achieved by Loew with the German national team. He managed to lead his team to the 2014 World Cup and the 2017 Confederations Cup.

Loew himself also has experience coaching at club level. He has previously coached Stuttgart, Fenerbahce, Tirol Innsbruck and Austria Wien.

Valverde actually had a pretty good performance with Barcelona. He managed to present two La Liga titles and one Copa del Rey title.

Prior to that, Valverde had also presented the Spanish Super Cup title to Athletic Bilbao. He also won three Greek League trophies and two Greek Cups with Olympiacos.

Andre Villas-Boas
Another coach who is unemployed is Andre Villas-Boas. The Portuguese has not coached since parting ways with Marseille on 2 February 2021.

Villas-Boas won the treble winners with Porto. He also won three titles in charge of Zenit St Petersburg.

The former assistant to Jose Mourinho has previously handled Chelsea and Tottenham. Unfortunately, his work in the Premier League was less successful.

Frank Lampard
Since parting ways with Chelsea in January 2021, Frank Lampard has not managed any club.

During his time in charge of Chelsea, Lampard failed to present a single trophy. Prior to coaching at Stamford Bridge, he also managed Derby County.

However, the English manager has recently been widely linked with Newcastle United. He is said to be the successor to Steve Bruce at St James’ Park.

Sam Allardyce
Sam Allardyce is one of the most experienced managers in world football. He has more than 30 years of experience as a manager.

Allardyce has managed a number of English clubs including Bolton Wanderers, Newcastle United, Blackburn Rovers, West Ham, Sunderland, Crystal Palace and Everton. West Brom became his last club.

Allardyce also briefly coached the England national team. The 67-year-old man is often trusted to handle teams struggling in the relegation zone.

Gennaro Gattuso left Napoli at the end of the 2020/2021 season. The AC Milan legend’s contract expired and was not renewed.

During his time in charge of Napoli, Gattuso won the 2019/2020 Coppa Italia. However, Napoli failed to penetrate the top four last season so Gattuso had to leave.

Gattuso was approached by Tottenham last summer. However, Gattuso ultimately failed to anchor to the Premier League club.

Andrea Pirlo

Paulo Fonseca
Paulo Fonseca was previously the coach of AS Roma. He worked at the Olimpico for two years before being replaced by Jose Mourinho.

Prior to arriving in Rome, Fonseca had great success when he led Shakhtar Donetsk. He won three Ukrainian Leagues, two Ukrainian Cups and Ukrainian Super Cup for three consecutive seasons.
