Spanish League: Barcelona’s victory over Celta Vigo does not make Xavi Hernandez satisfied

Barcelona won three points when they met Celta Vigo in the eighth week of La Liga, Monday (10/10/2022) early morning hrs. Playing at home, Barca won 1-0 over Celta.

The only goal for Barcelona’s victory was scored by the young midfielder, Pedri Gonzalez in the 17th minute. Pedri took advantage of the mistakes of the Celta Vigo defender who was not neat in blocking the ball.

It was Los Cules’ seventh win in La Liga 2022/2023. These positive results made the Blaugrana back up to the top of the La Liga standings with a value of 22.

El Barca coach, Xavi Hernandez feels his care team continues to grow. He also praised the appearance of Raphinha et al. in the first round.

“Barcelona have to improve, we have to be critical of ourselves. The first half was good, the intensity was good, we created a lot of chances and had to kill the game,” he said.

Performed poorly in the second half

However, Xavi continued to criticize his team’s game. He felt Barcelona performed poorly in the second half.

Xavi Hernandez felt his players allowed Celta to press and develop the game. According to Xavi, it can’t be separated from the physical condition of the Barca players who have had tough matches recently in the near future.

“We were not good in the second half. We let Celta press,” Xvai lamented.

“Maybe because of fatigue, tiredness. Psychologically we dropped and they had two or three clear chances on the counter-attack.”

Keep Attacking

Xavi called this victory very important. Especially for Barcelona’s efforts to win the La Liga title again this season.

There is one more note from Xavi Hernandez for his players in this match. Namely they must be able to maintain the tempo of the game and move to attack throughout the game.

“It’s a big win but we have to be a team that moves forward for the first 30 minutes,” he said.

Ready for Inter

After this match, Barcelona will immediately host Inter Milan. This is the fourth match of the 2022/2023 Champions League group stage.

At the first meeting last week, Barca lost 1-0 at Inter headquarters. The Blaugrana certainly carry the mission of revenge in the match later.

Victory in the match which will be held on Thursday (10/13/2022) will also open up Barca’s chances of qualifying for the last 16 phase of this season’s Champions League.

Currently, Barcelona is in third place in Group C with three points. They are six points behind Bayern Munich at the top of the group.
