Ole Gunnar Solskjaer did not turn a blind eye to Manchester United’s poor performance in the match against Leicester City . There are several reasons behind the poor result. However, Solskjaer did not blame the players.
United swallowed bad results when they had to undergo a visit to the King Power Stadium, Saturday (16/10/2021) night WIB. Hosted by host Leicester City in week 8 of the 2021/2022 Premier League , the Red Devils lost 4-2.
The Foxes’ winning goals were scored by Youri Tielemans, Caglar Soyuncu, James Vardy and Patson Daka. While the Red Devils were only able to score goals through Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford.
Before falling at King Power, United had a pretty good away record. They haven’t lost since January 2020. However, the record is officially over. United have continued their poor form of late.
The way we played, we didn’t deserve to continue that run,” said Solskjaer.
“We haven’t been in good form lately.”
We may have to change, do we need more legs there? What do we need?,” Solskjaer continued.
About Harry Maguire
Solskjaer chose to field Maguire who was doubtful enough to be fit. He had just recovered from his injury. Maguire also made several fatal mistakes, one of which even led to Tielemans’ goal.
If we conceded four I might have made a bad decision,” said Solskjaer.
Miss Fred and Cavani
The international break gave Solskjaer problems. Not only the energy of the players may not be fully full, Solskjaer also has to lose Fred and Edinson Cavani. They were not in the squad against Leicester.
Cavani and Fred are not injured. However, they couldn’t play because of the very limited recovery time after playing for their respective national teams in the 2022 World Cup Qualification round in the Conmebol zone.
“I’ve got a lot of good players. Fred, Edinson Cavani, you miss them.

“To be honest, we’ve had this kind of game for a long time. We haven’t encountered any problems, conceding easy goals, stupid goals. We have to be more mature, play with more experience and arrogance in a good way,” he said.
Must be changed
United have a pretty good squad in the 2021/2022 season. But, as in previous seasons, United’s performance has not been consistent. Had performed well at the beginning of the season, recently United’s performance has declined.
Pogba has not been able to identify the problems that United are currently facing. However, the French player has a strong desire for a bad situation to pass soon. United must immediately find a solution to the problems that occur.
“We need to find something, we need to change. We need to find the right mentality and tactics to win,” said the former Juventus player.
