Scream 5 get box office records in 22 years since

Entertaiment

For the first time in 22 years since Scream 3 (2000), the fifth film broke box office records. Scream (2022) earned more than US$100 million worldwide. This revenue equivalent to Rp1.43 billion was obtained by Scream after almost a month showing in global theaters.

In the first week of broadcast, Scream grossed US $ 30 million from the domestic box office. Although the figure dropped considerably in the third week, the total revenue for this film from local cinema tickets reached US$62.13 million.

This weekend alone, Scream earned $6.5 million in international views, leading to an increase in global screen revenue to $44.1. In total until its third week, Scream is estimated to have pocketed US $ 106 million.

Scream (2022) has managed to surpass the revenue of Scream 4 (2011) which only managed to earn US $ 97 million during its broadcast worldwide including the United States. With a capital of only US$24 million, this fifth Scream film has established itself as a huge profit in the midst of a pandemic.

This income opens up the possibility of a sixth film being produced, considering that the end of the fifth film still leaves new (and old) characters surviving until the end.

Fans of this franchise will of course be happy to welcome them back, including the director duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillet who managed to bring new nuances while still being familiar in their version of Scream.

Scream’s (2022) record at the box office was in line with the reviews and critics it received. People liked this sequel so much that the reviews it received were positive.

Scream is one of the horror franchises that has left a mark on the hearts of viewers since the 90s. The first film was released in 1996 and directed by Wes Craven by installing Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, to Keet Ulrich as the main character.

Scream (2022) is now back bringing the characters played by Neve, David, and Courteney to the screen.Richie (Jack Quaid), Amber (Mikey Madison), Wes (Dylan Minnette), the twins. Mindy (Jasmin Savoy Brown) and Chad (Mason Gooding), and Liv (Sonia Ben Ammar).
