Boku dake ga Inai Machi is the story of a young man who does unusual things to improve the situation he is currently facing, but if he wants this task to be completed, he must also improve the situation in the past. The story begins when Fujinuma Satoru, who is pursuing a career as a mangaka, fails because his work is rejected, behind an ordinary life, it turns out that Satoru has a past trauma because he feels guilty for not doing his best when he has a bad feeling. Now he has switched careers as a delivery person, at that time he experienced a strange incident, namely Revival, this incident seemed to hint at Satoru something odd or bad. Because it would actually happen 5 minutes later after Satoru had a revival. However, Satoru’s fate gets worse when his mother gets into trouble when she comes to his rented house. Because Fujinuma Sachiko, Satoru’s mother, is able to uncover the suspect for what traumatized Satoru. What’s the next story? will Satoru be able to finish everything?

The story is presented short and concise, maybe those who read the original manga will feel uncomfortable when watching the anime version, knowing that 40 chapters + adapted into 12 episodes must be carefully summarized, so you have to skip there and skip here. This can be seen from episode 1, where the opening episode has explained how the story as a whole is, so detailed, almost all the scenes in episode 1 look detailed. this makes me feel curious about episode 2 and so on. Where I was made curious about the figure of a mysterious person. This is the strength of the story to be seen as a puzzle that is difficult to decipher. If you like anime with hard thinking types like Steins;Gate and Death Note, I highly recommend this anime because of its slick mystery-psychological mix.
There is only one main character in this anime, the rest are only supporting characters, because character development is focused on Fujinuma Satoru as the main character. the guy looks geeky with glasses, can’t believe he’s 29 years old. many accept the bitterness of life is able to improve a situation. My favorite character from this series is Katagiri Airi, because she does great things. Even though she gets into trouble due to Satoru’s problem, she still helps because Airi believes Satoru is innocent.
For Art, it seems there is no need to doubt it because this anime presents very slick graphics, the type of depiction and coloring is adjusted to the story. For example, when flashback coloring is a little dark, when solving a mystery, a curious picture is drawn and so on. The sharpness of color is also the highlight of this anime, and the studio that adapted it, namely A-1 Pictures, was able to maintain its animation quality consistently. Ost
I think music is the main point because I like both. For the opening entitled Re-re by Asian kung-fu generation, the nuances presented in this song are more towards mystery, strategy and a little seinen. The opening scene shows Satoru battling a storm, heading against the strong current to resolve what happened. The ending is titled Sore wa Chiisana Hikari no Youna by Sayuri, the nuances lead to romance, drama and a little slice of life.
