Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi postponed his contract extension even though he had been given the opportunity because he was still waiting for the 2021/22 Italian League final results.
Inter Milan just got an important win in the hope of retaining their Scudetto this season.
In the continuation of the 31st week of the Italian League season 21/22, the host Juventus hosted Inter Milan at the Allianz Arena stadium, Monday (04/04/22) early morning WIB.
Appearing to be pressing throughout the match, Juventus failed to get full points after Hakan Calhanoglu’s penalty goal at the end of the first half lasted until the end of the match.
With this victory, Inter Milan was again able to keep the distance from the top standings AC Milan with only a difference of three points.
They also still have one match to play against Bologna, so Simone Inzaghi’s squad remains a strong candidate to win the Scudetto this season.
Having a great opportunity to defend the Italian League title, Simone Inzhagi has been rewarded with a contract extension by Inter Milan.
However, as it turned out, the former Lazio coach realized that his goal this season had not been achieved and chose to postpone the extension of his tenure at the Giuseppe Meazza.
“I have a contract that the club asked me to extend, but I asked to wait because we have to evaluate based on the results,” said Inzaghi, quoted by DAZN.
Inzaghi feels that his team has done a great job after experiencing a negative trend in the last few games.
Inter Milan’s hard work is not over
Criticism came from various parties during Inter Milan’s negative trend. However, Inzaghi believes in his capabilities as a top-class coach in Italy.
“Seven months of great work have been overshadowed by three recent draws, but I feel trusted by everyone,” said Inzaghi.
“I’m happy with what we’ve done over the last seven months, the criticism has come out, but I’ve been in football for thirty years, it’s right to accept the constructive.” Inzaghi concluded.
Now that they have beaten Juventus and kept their Scudetto hopes alive, Inter Milan has received a lot of support to finish the season with the title.
One of them is the coach of the Old Lady, Massimiliano Allegri.
Allegri turns out to be relying more on Inter Milan than AC Milan because the Nerazzurri have the remaining matches which on paper are more profitable.
“Just look at the list of matches. Of course anything can happen in football, but Inter Milan have crossed an important hurdle tonight,” said Allegri.
“I think Inter Milan will get an injection of confidence and will be favourites,” concluded the former Empoli coach.
Of the eight remaining matches, Inter Milan will only face one big team, namely AS Roma.
The rest of Simone Inzaghi’s squad will meet Hellas Verona, Spezia, Empoli, Cagliari, Udinese, Bologna and Sampdoria.
AC Milan’s tough match for the rest of the 2021/22 season
While AC Milan still have to fight four big teams that will make it difficult for them to win the Scudetto this season.
Stefano Pioli’s men will face Lazio, Fiorentina, Atalanta, Sassuolo, Verona, Genoa and Torino after tonight’s meeting with Bologna at home.
Looking at the remaining matches in the last eight weeks, it seems not impossible that Inter Milan can win the top of the standings based on their performance against Juventus.
But AC Milan is also in positive form. the last five matches, the Rossoneri managed to get three wins and two draws.
Tonight’s match against Bologna is also predicted to lean towards AC Milan. Because the record for meeting the two teams is still in favor of the Rossoneri.
Therefore, victory is a fixed price for AC Milan to again widen the distance from the pursuit of the rivals below it.
