Liverpool – Jurgen Klopp insists Liverpool are better prepared to face Real Madrid in this season’s Champions League final . However, Los Blancos are still his favourites.
Liverpool and Madrid will meet at the Stade de France on 29 May. Prior to the final, Liverpool got rid of Villarreal 5-2 on aggregate.

This is Madrid’s first final since 2018.

Liverpool and Klopp are in their third final in five years. This is a meeting of two giants with a long history in European competition, where Liverpool have six Champions League titles and Madrid with 13 titles.

Both are equally eager to add to it this season. Especially for Liverpool who had a bad experience when they met Madrid in the final. Four years ago, Liverpool lost 3-1 in Kiev which was marked by two blunders by Loris Karius and the injury of Mohamed Salah.

Klopp believes that his team this time is better prepared to face Madrid. Moreover, Liverpool are in their best form to be able to chase four titles.

However, Klopp considers Madrid to be more favored because of his status as the king of this competition.

We seem to have a match with Madrid,” said Jurgen Klopp on ESPN.

“They are clear favorites to win. They are very experienced. Maybe we are more experienced than before, but we don’t want to compare,” he continued.

“We’re obviously not happy after the 2018 final, but I’m happy to be there and try to win it. But we still have a lot of games before that. You ask a lot of questions about Real Madrid, but please stop talking about the Champions League final.”
