Real Madrid Aims for Victory over PSG in Leg 2 of the Champions League last 16, Fede Valverde could be the key

Federico Valverde – The midfielder from Uruguay is predicted to be the successor to Kroos or Modric in the Los Blancos midfield. Valverde, who has played 121 matches with 5 goals and 7 assists, has always performed according to the coach’s expectations.

Real Madrid midfielder , Fede Valverde, insists on getting a core place in Los Blancos’ midfield when facing Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the second leg of the Champions League last 16. After often being the 12th player, slowly but surely, the Uruguayan player wants to be a starter for Real Madrid.

Previously, Los Blancos would first host Real Sociedad in the match jornada 27 La Liga, Sunday (6/3/2022) early morning WIB.

Fede Valverde has made 21 appearances in La Liga this season, but only 12 matches he is believed to have started. While in the Champions League this season, he has played five times, and started twice, namely when he traveled to Inter Milan and hosted Sheiff in the group stage.

After Real Madrid ‘s 0-1 defeat away to PSG in the first leg of the Champions League last 16, Carlo Ancelotti seems to have to refresh his squad in the second leg with players who can match the pace of Les Parisiens players.

Valverde brings his energy and ability to play vertically better when compared to Real Madrid ‘s three older and less fast midfielders , something Madrid have lacked in some of their big games this season.

It must be admitted that Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid have always relied on the trio of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Casemiro in midfield. Luka Modric and Toni Kross are no longer young so they often have to work extra hard when facing younger players in the opposing team’s midfield.

So this is the right moment for Fede Valverde to shine and get his real chance.
