Premier League: Thomas Tuchel stranded Chelsea players hit by COVID-19 storm and injury

Sports

Chelsea manager , Thomas Tuchel, is currently being dizzy. The reason is, a number of the Blues’ core players were hit by the COVID-19 storm and were also injured.

The London Blue team was only able to draw 1-1 against Everton in the Premier League match at Stamford Bridge, Friday (17/12/2021) early morning hrs. The result was fairly bad for Chelsea who lost several important players.

Prior to that match, the Blues were unable to play Timo Werner, Romelu Lukaku and Callum Hudson-Odoi who were confirmed positive for COVID-19. The three players followed two other names who had already been absent, namely Ben Chilwell and Mateo Kovacic.

Unfortunately for Chelsea, the duel against Everton yesterday also took a toll. Jorginho and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are both injured and will be out of action this weekend.

Injuries to Jorginho and Loftus-Cheek are a big problem for Chelsea . The reason is, Tuchel doesn’t have many midfielder options. Kovacic has just entered the final stages of his quarantine and N’Golo Kante is not yet fully fit.

Lame Condition
This means that Chelsea is in a limp condition when they face Wolverhampton Wanderers in the 18th Premier League match at Molineux Stadium, Sunday (12/19/2021) night WIB.

“Jorginho’s status is still doubtful for Sunday’s game because he is still in pain. Ruben Loftus-Cheek is also doubtful, he is in pain. I’m not sure if they can travel with us on Sunday,” Tuchel told Chelsea’s official website.

Is that fair to them? No. Could it be done? I don’t know.”

Losing Balance
Jorginho’s absence is believed to be very detrimental to Chelsea. This season Jorginho bears a big burden as a regulator of the rhythm of the Blues game.

So we’ll see,” continued Tuchel.

“Maybe we were forced to do crazy things that we don’t normally do. But is that normal? We’ve lost important players and we have to find a solution.”
