Premier League Results: Last-minute goal wins Chelsea over Newcastle, Leeds beats Norwich


Chelsea won full points against Newcastle United in the Premier League , Sunday (13/3/2022) night WIB.

The Chelsea vs Newcastle duel at Stamford Bridge stadium, London ended with the score 1-0 for the Blues’ victory – Chelsea’s nickname.

Chelsea’s only goal was scored by Kai Havertz after converting an accurate cross from Jorginho in the 89th minute.

This result makes Chelsea cut the difference in points with Liverpool in second place. They now sit in third place in the Premier League standings with 59 points from 28 matches.

As for Newcastle, this defeat ended their positive trend of being unbeaten in their last 9 matches in all competitions.

Newcastle now occupies the 14th position in the standings with a collection of 31 points from 28 matches.

Chelsea actually appear very dominant in this match. They even had control of the ball more than 70 percent.

However, the team nicknamed the Blues had difficulty creating many opportunities. Their front line, led by Kai Havertz, looked dull in the first half.

In the second half, Chelsea still struggled to create chances until Timo Werner was fouled in the penalty box in the 60th minute.

However, the referee did not award a penalty to Thomas Tuchel’s team because Werner was considered to have been caught offside earlier.

In the 76th minute, Chelsea got a chance through Kai Havertz . The German midfielder tried to grab a cross through a header which was unfortunately able to be kept out by goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.

Chelsea’s awaited goal was finally born in the 89th minute. Kai Havertz managed to break into the Newcastle goal after converting a beautiful cross from Jorginho. The 1-0 score lasted until dispersal.

In another match, Leeds United managed to rise from adversity after taming Norwich City’s resistance with a score of 2-1. This is Los Blancos’ first win after suffering six straight defeats.
