Chelsea won a dramatic 1-0 win over West Ham United in Week 34 of the Premier League at Stamford Bridge, Sunday (24/4).
Chelsea’s narrow victory was marred by Jorginho’s failure to execute a penalty which was caught by goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.
Luckily the Blues have a versatile player like Christian Pulisic who scored the winning goal for the hosts.
Since the beginning of the game Chelsea appeared to dominate, but had difficulty breaking into West Ham’s goal.
The attacks from Thomas Tuchel’s team were often thwarted by goalkeeper Fabianski’s brilliant performance.
The advantage was obtained by Chelsea after defender Craig Dawson had to be sent off by referee Michael Oliver for excessive protests after fouling Romelu Lukaku.
The incident in the 86th minute also led to a penalty for Chelsea. However, Jorginho’s execution failed to bear fruit.
Jorginho’s penalty was caught by Fabianski in the 87th minute.
Superior in the number of players to make Chelsea continue to press West Ham. In the 90th minute Chelsea attacked from the left side.
Marcos Alonso provided a pull bait into the middle of the penalty box. The pass could not be thwarted by the West Ham players. Unmarked Pulisic calmly scored with his left foot.
Pulisic’s goal at the end of the match gave Chelsea a dramatic 1-0 win over West Ham.
