Man City officially signed Calvin Phillips from Leeds United, Monday (4/7/2022). This announcement was released a few hours after they released Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal.
Arsenal have finally completed the transfer of Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City. The North London club’s official account announced the signing on Monday (4/7/2022) noon WIB.
Gabriel Jesus, who plays as a center forward, got a long contract from Arsenal. The Brazilian player is tied to a five-year contract.
Not long ago, it was Man City’s turn to announce their new players. After Erling Haaland, it is now the turn of midfielder Kalvin Phillips to be brought in.
Purchased for 42 Million Pounds
Calvin Phillips was bought with funds reaching 42 million pounds. In addition, Man City slipped a bonus of 3 million pounds again to Leeds United in the buyout clause.
“I am very happy to be joining Manchester City,” said Calvin Phillips.
“Man City have once again proved to be the best team in the country with an extraordinary squad and a manager in Pep Guardiola who is considered the best in the world.”
“To be able to play under Pep and learn from him and his coaching staff and be part of such a fantastic squad is a prospect I am very excited about.”
Stay a part of Leeds
Calvin Phillips is a graduate of the Leeds United academy. His figure developed thanks to the foresight of former manager Marcelo Bielsa.
