Although most of his days at Old Trafford were disrupted by injury, Raphael Varane was still able to become Manchester United’s mainstay centre-back. The 28-year-old has excellent speed, power and aerial ability. Red Devils fans will be calmer with Varane’s presence. (AFP/Glyn Kirk)

The performance of Manchester United (MU) for the 2021/2022 season is far from expectations, after being knocked out of the top four positions. They threatened to fail to appear in the Champions League next season.

Manchester United is in sixth position with a distance of five points from fourth-ranked residents, Arsenal. And it should be noted, Arsenal have two games left unplayed.

Victory over Brentford on Tuesday (3/5/2022) early this morning gave a glimmer of hope for the Red Devils. Yes, they finally got the win after going through some bad weeks.

Manchester United managed to win the match against Brentford at Old Trafford with a landslide score of 3-0. Bruno Fernandes, Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphael Varane contributed the three goals.

Manchester United have great determination to close this season with maximum results. At least it will be a stepping stone to welcome next season with a new era under the new manager, Erik ten Hag.

The duel against Brentford will be the last time the Red Devils will play at Old Trafford this season. Even so, they still have two away games to play before the competition ends.

Both games must be won for Manchester United to end 2021/22 in the best possible way. However, what is more important for them now is how to live the next season.

Next season, Manchester United will be managed by Erik ten Hag. Varane exudes a high sense of optimism when speaking to the Manchester United media team, and is confident that next season will go even better.

“Next season will be even better. I hope to be able to go into pre-season fully fit and help the team as much as possible. I wish the best for this club and its fans,” said Varane.

“It’s very important for us to finish the season well. We know the fans support us, so we have to fight for them too, and we have to keep fighting and fighting until the end for them.”
