So far, the Spaniard has collected six podiums, five of which are victories. He has also consistently won points in every race, until now he is the strongest candidate for the Moto3 world champion with a collection of 201 points, 46 points ahead of his closest rival, Sergio Garcia.

Fernandez himself won the European Junior Championship in 2014 and was ranked fifth in the FIM CEV Repsol Moto2 in the same year. He also made his Grand Prix debut in 2017 when he was called up to defend Speed ​​Up Racing from Moto2 Italy at the Mugello Circuit.

In 2018, he was denied a place in the Moto2 Grand Prix, until he returned to the FIM CEV Repsol Moto2.
