Neymar’s Exorbitant Contract Value at PSG Leaked: Fantastic, Transfer Fees and Salaries Spent IDR 8.2 Trillion

Neymar moved to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) from Barcelona in a world record transfer fee of 222 million euros. However, from reports circulating in Spain, PSG had to spend far more than that nominal to bring in the Brazilian player.

Spanish media El Mundo Deportivo, as quoted by Sportbible, Sunday (5/9/2021) , claims PSG have paid almost 500 million euros for Neymar since his arrival to Paris in 2017.

Neymar is currently the second highest paid player at PSG, only behind Lionel Messi. Messi reportedly receives a salary of 40 million euros per year, while Neymar is 36 million euros per year.

However, according to El Mundo, Neymar gets a salary that turns out to be much bigger. Neymar’s pre-tax salary is 43,334,400 euros, which PSG agreed to in the Brazilian’s initial contract.

Neymar’s contract at PSG only expired in 2025. He had just signed a contract extension with the wealthy French club in May 2021.

Salary Can Increase Again
El Mundo also added that there is a sixth year bonus salary option. Neymar’s salary will increase again if he stays at PSG until 2023.

His salary will increase to 50,556,117 euros (Rp856.2 trillion). Neymar’s nominal salary is even greater than that received by Lionel Messi.

So, if you combine the transfer fee and his salary to date, Neymar has cost PSG 489,228,117 euros (Rp 8.2 trillion). Truly an extraordinary number.

Poor Statistics
Despite his status as the player with the most expensive transfer in football history, Neymar has not shown his best potential while at PSG. The 29-year-old forward has missed most of the game through injury while in Paris.

The Brazilian superstar left Barcelona to win the Champions League and Ballon d’Or. Neymar has so far failed to achieve any of those goals, despite having won several domestic titles.

Spanish League: PSG already has a plan B if Kylian Mbappe insists on joining Real Madrid

Tottenham Hotspur will be dizzy in the transfer market next season. Because, Paris Saint-Germain ( PSG ) is ready to compete for Inter Milan striker, Lautaro Martinez, if Kylian Mbappe is excited to join Real Madrid.

Kylian Mbappe’s transfer saga has temporarily stalled after Real Madrid failed to sign him from PSG. But Los Blancos will still be lobbying the striker in the transfer market next season.

Even Real Madrid are ready to offer him a salary in January 2021. Because at that time Kylian Mbappe has six months left on his contract, which means he has the right to discuss pre-contracts with any club.

PSG of course, while hoping to find a solution with Mbappe, have already squared off to find a suitable replacement. Quoted from Express, the name in question is Lautaro Martinez.

At Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappe will reportedly receive double the salary he earned at PSG.
