PSG poured hundreds of millions of Euros to sign Neymar from Barcelona in 2017. Now, Neymar’s performance and contribution is still far from the expectations of fans and the team.
Neymar’s transfer to PSG makes Neymar the most expensive player in the world. PSG spent 222 million euros, an unbelievably large figure. Since then, football is considered to have entered the post-Neymar era.
Viewed from any side, the purchase of Neymar shows PSG’s ambition. The French giants are used to winning Ligue 1, they want to continue their dominance in Europe.
Well Neymar is expected to make that dream come true. The problem is, this Brazilian winger actually spends a lot of time sidestepping injury.

Citing international Goal, PSG’s investment by signing Neymar has so far not been really satisfactory. Neymar is constantly injured, missing many important games.
Signed in the summer of 2017, Neymar’s debut season had to end early in February 2018 due to a metatarsal fracture. A year later, he suffered a similar injury in January 2019.
Neymar also had problems with a hamstring injury in the 2019/20 season. Even this season he has been absent since the end of November 2021 due to an ankle injury.
According to Goal’s records, Neymar has suffered around 7 different injuries since joining PSG. He was out for months, missing a total of 96 games, almost 100 games out.
No one doubts Neymar’s skills on the pitch. In fact, he is known as one of the most skilled players today.
The problem is, with recurring injury problems like that, the purchase of Neymar is far from satisfactory, you can even say it failed. His contribution on the field is also very minimal.
PSG is lucky to still have other top players like Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi. So, losing Neymar is not too bothersome.
However, if this situation does not change, there is no point in PSG continuing to keep players who are constantly injured.

Injury continues, Neymar asks close friends for help
Neymar is hit by injury again. This time the Brazilian winger was hit with bruises in PSG ‘s duel against Saint-Ettienne last weekend. Neymar may be out for the next six weeks.
Interestingly, the case of Neymar’s absence due to injury is no longer a new thing for PSG. You could even say that PSG have been used to losing Neymar to injury since signing him in 2017.
The Brazilian winger has been repeatedly hit by injuries. Neymar couldn’t really show his best ability because he was too often sidelined and missed matches.
Of course Neymar’s problem has to be handled properly, that’s why he’s trying to recruit the right people to help him through his recovery.
According to Marca, recently Neymar asked his close friend from Brazil, Nene. Previously, Nene played for Celta Vigo, Espanyol and PSG.
Nene has hung up his boots and he has enough experience to help Neymar deal with injury problems.
“I’m in Paris to help him, whatever he needs,” said Nene in an interview a few days ago.
“I’m here to support him, help him have a good time and most importantly help him laugh a little so he can concentrate on recovering as soon as possible.”
Nene explained that Neymar’s current condition was not at his best level. Neymar still has to go through difficult times in the early stages of his injury recovery.
“He is calm, of course, but he is not happy. This is a difficult moment, his knee is still in bad shape,” continued Nene.
“Nevertheless, I will try to support and accompany him, to remind him to continue to be positive and that this difficult time will pass soon.”
Neymar’s absence has so far not had much of an impact on the team. Most recently, PSG beat Club Brugge 4-1 in the Champions League. Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi each scored two goals.
“He [Neymar] will be back in about a month and a half and he is doing everything to recover as quickly as possible,” concluded Nene.
