Former Manchester United or MU captain Gary Neville once criticized the condition of his former club after a draw at Newcastle some time ago. He hinted there was a problem between Cristiano Ronaldo and captain Harry Maguire.
Ronaldo reportedly felt frustrated after Manchester United ‘s match against Wolves in the Premier League match last weekend. He headed straight for the tunnel after the final whistle as if to show his irritation with his teammates.
Writing to his 386 million Instagram followers, Ronaldo called for higher spirits and a stronger mentality than Manchester United in 2022, but they have started the New Year in the worst possible way.
Ronaldo himself was in the spotlight after Manchester United’s defeat at the hands of Wolves. Not a few have questioned Rangnick’s decision to make the Portugal star captain.
Ronaldo has actually been trying hard to stay at the top of his game. However, the efforts of the former Juventus star did not work.
Meanwhile, speaking after his team lost to Wolves, Rangnick admitted he was unhappy with the nature of his team’s performance.
“We didn’t play well individually or collectively. In the first half, we had big problems to keep them away from our goal,” he said.
“The goals we conceded, we had enough players in the box. The cross has been defended by Jones but we have conceded too many goals this season.
“Moutinho can shoot unmarked without problems, without pressure. We are very disappointed with the result and part of our performance,” Rangnick said.
“They play with four or five central midfielders and we have problems controlling that part of the pitch.”
