Anime

A sidekick has a duty to help his master. Although often underestimated, the presence of a sidekick is actually very important.

There are times when a hero or villain can’t do his job alone and that’s where the role of a sidekick comes in .

Of the many sidekicks that appear in anime, here are the five most loyal sidekicks ever in anime. Curious who the characters are? Check out the following reviews.

Robert E. O. Speedwagon (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure) : Robert EO Speedwagon is first introduced in Phantom Blood as a criminal who tries to rob Jonathan Joestar. After being defeated by Jonathan, Speedwagon decides to follow Jonathan’s adventures in defeating Dio Brando.

Even after Jonathan’s death, Speedwagon is still a loyal sidekick to the descendants of Joestar. By establishing the Speedwagon Foundation, Speedwagon is funding Joeseph Joestar’s adventures in Battle Tendency and Stardust Crusaders .

Riza Hawkeye (Fullmetal Alchemist) : Lieutenant Riza Hawkeye is a member of the military in Amestris who also works as a bodyguard for Colonel Roy Mustang. After the two get involved in the Ishval Civil War, Riza decides to become Roy Mustang ‘s loyal sidekick .

Knowing the rottenness of his country, Riza is willing to help Roy in overthrowing the corrupt Amestris government. Riza is very protective of Roy more than Riza is protective of herself.

Interestingly, Riza swears that he will not hesitate to kill Roy if Roy takes the wrong path.

Konan (Naruto) : Konan is a sidekick of the real Akatsuki leader, Nagato Uzumaki. Konan had known Nagato since they were little, and he was also one of the Akatsuki leaders.

When Nagato’s body became very weak, Konan was the one who took care of Nagato and carried out all his orders.

Konan strongly believed in Nagato’s vision of bringing about peace in the world, and when Nagato entrusted his dream to Naruto, Konan believed in Naruto because Nagato believed in him.

Joey Wheeler (Yu-Gi-Oh!) : Remembering Yu-Gi-Oh! is a series that relies on the power of friendship, the presence of Joey Wheeler is needed by the main protagonist, Yugi Muto. At first, Yugi did not have a good relationship with Joey, where Joey was the child who often bullied Yugi.

However, Joey begins to become Yugi’s best friend after Yugi saves Joey from other bullies . Over the course of the series, Joey has helped Yugi on his journey many times.

In fact, in one episode, Joey manages to free himself from Marik’s brainwashing influence because of his strong desire to refuse to hurt his best friend.

Nui Harime (Kill La Kill) : Although shown as a character who helps the main antagonist, Nui Harime’s loyalty to Ragyo Kiryuin is extraordinary. Nui himself is a hybrid between a human and the Fiber of Life created by Ragyo.

Nui is very loyal to Ragyo and will do anything he tells her to do. This was proven when he was willing to sacrifice his life to launch Ragyo’s plan.

When Ragyo’s plan required Nui to die and fuse with the Primordial Life Fiber, Nui happily decapitated himself.

Regardless of whether the five characters above are good or bad, the loyalty of the five characters above is indeed extraordinary. Not surprisingly, the five characters above deserve to be called the best sidekick ever in anime.
