Manchester City again failed to fulfill its ambition to win the Champions League after being beaten 1-3 by Real Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League semifinal at Santiago Bernabeu, Wednesday 4 May 2022 (Thursday early morning WIB).

Armed with a 4-3 win in the first leg last week, The Citizens actually only needed a draw to qualify for the final. However, fate said otherwise. ManCity, which had a 1-0 lead, instead fell 1-3 in a 120-minute duel.

ManCity had taken the lead in the 73rd minute through Riyad Mahrez’s goal. The ticket to the final is already in front of ManCity’s eyes. Because, with only 17 minutes remaining, Real Madrid had to catch up with two goals.
