LIVERPOOL – Liverpool against Norwich City in the last 16 of the 2021-2022 FA Cup . The match at Anfield, Thursday (3/3/2022), early in the morning WIB, the match was exciting from the first minute.
However, Liverpool were the better team in the early hours of this morning. The Reds also won the match with a score of 2-1 and sealed a ticket to the quarterfinals.
The course of the match
The Reds immediately played attacking since the early minutes. Their dominance almost paid off if Curtis Jones’ kick was not countered by the crossbar in the 11th minute.
However, Norwich also tried to attack. They occasionally controlled the ball and launched a counter-attack that was quite troublesome.
As in the 16th minute, they created a golden opportunity through a combination of Mathias Normann, Milot Rashica, and Teemu Pukki. The deadlock was almost solved if Pukki’s shot did not deviate from the goal.
Due to continuous pressure, The Canaries finally missed. Takumi Minamino gave the Reds a 1-0 lead after utilizing Divock Origi’s pass in the 29th minute.
Furthermore, Norwich difficulty to develop the game. Jurgen Klopp’s team continues to leave Norwich’s defense in tatters.
Minamino was again a scourge for Norwich. His gledek kick from outside the penalty box was able to make Tim Krul silent in the 41st minute.
Minamino’s action turned out to be the closing of Liverpool’s goal tap in the first half. The Reds took a temporary lead with the score 2-0 at halftime.
The Reds’ game after the break was getting more intense. Minamino, Origi, and Diogo Jota’s trident were a major problem for the Canaries defense.
A massive attack was shown by Jurgen Klopp’s team as it entered the 50th minute. Jota’s efforts almost paid off, but his shot, which hit the opponent’s hand, escaped the referee’s view.
Harvey Eliot got a golden opportunity in the right sector. His individual action was able to provide a pull bait to Jordan Henderson. Unfortunately, his hard kick was still able to be secured by Krul.
Having fun attacking, the Reds even missed out on 76 minutes. Lukas Rupp was able to continue Sargent’s breakthrough bait to make Alisson Becker helpless.
