Liverpool are facing problems in midfield following injuries to several of their players. Jurgen Klopp has spoken about bringing in new players in this position.
Thiago Alcantara picked up a hamstring injury in the match against Fulham. The injury will keep him out for at least six weeks.
Thiago’s injury adds to the long list of fallen Liverpool midfielders. In the match against Fulham, the Reds were also without Naby Keita, Curtis Jones, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Jurgen Klopp admits one solution is to spend on players. However, Klopp has indicated that Liverpool will not go into the transfer market this summer looking for new players to tackle problems in midfield.
“If there had been the right players and the opportunity, we would have done it, we would have done it, but I don’t see it because we have talked a lot and it looks like something is not going to happen,” Klopp said as reported by Sky Sports .
“I’m happy with the strength, size and quality of my squad but we have a problem with injuries. There are many solutions to that. One of them is the transfer market, but it only makes sense if you can bring in the right players.”
“All other solutions are in the squad. We have too many injury problems, that’s clear. Naby will be back for Monday’s game and Kostas (Tsimikas) will train today for the first time, so he might as well come back,” said Juergen Klopp .
Naby Keita is expected to return to strengthen Liverpool in the second week of the Premier League match. Liverpool will host Crystal Palace on Monday (15/8/2022) night WIB.
