Lewandowski: Madrid owes Benzema a lot


Munich – Bayern Munich bomber Robert Lewandowski praised Karim Benzema ‘s consistency . According to Lewandowski, Real Madrid owes Benzema a lot.

Real Madrid signed Benzema from Lille when he was 21 years old in the summer of 2009. The French top striker’s debut season was not okay after only scoring nine goals in 33 matches in all competitions.

After that, Benzema played more of a role as a servant to Cristiano Ronaldo, who served as the main focus of Los Blancos’ attacks for nine seasons. However, after the departure of Ronaldo in the summer three years ago, Benzema successfully led Madrid.

Until now, Benzema has packed a total of 303 goals plus 153 assists in 588 El Real matches in all competitions. Benzema helped Real Madrid win 19 titles including three LaLiga titles, two Copa del Rey and four Champions Leagues.

“He’s a goal-scorer, he’s a versatile goalscorer, who has all the attitudes of a modern striker,” Lewandowski told France Football.

“He also likes to complement his team-mates. RealMadrid owes him a lot. Every season he always scores a lot of goals,” continued this Polish football star.

“In the last few months he has continued to make progress. I think he is now even tougher with a more complete game,” said Lewandowski .

Karim Benzema has scored 24 La Liga goals to help Real Madrid top the La Liga standings four points clear of their closest rivals Sevilla. Thanks to his contribution, Madrid is also still surviving in the Copa del Rey (quarter-finals) and the last 16 of the Champions League.
