KTM boss annoyed Raul Fernandez is still rumored to be moving to Yamaha

Sports

Director of KTM Motorsport, Pit Beirer , admitted that he was annoyed that Raul Fernandez was still rumored to be defecting to Yamaha in MotoGP 2022. In fact, Fernandez has officially defended Tech 3 KTM Factory Racing, and Yamaha has announced the complete line-up of the factory team and satellite team next season.

These rumors continue to appear not without reason. The reason is, in August, the 21-year-old rider bluntly admitted that he was disappointed after KTM unilaterally announced its cooperation with Tech 3 in the 2022 MotoGP. In fact, at that time he and Yamaha were negotiating to defend the WithU Yamaha RNF MotoGP Team.

The incident occurred on the sidelines of the Austrian MotoGP, after manager Fernandez was caught meeting Yamaha Motor Racing Managing Director, Lin Jarvis. Jarvis intends to buy the Spanish rider’s contract from KTM for EUR 500 thousand. After the KTM announcement was released, Fernandez sulked and said their move was not right.

Don’t accept penalty wages from Yamaha
Even so, Fernandez’s mind changed completely after KTM gave him the opportunity to try the RC16 motorbike early. Along with Remy Gardner and other MotoGP riders, Fernandez took part in the mid-season test at Misano in mid-September. Impressed by the RC16, Fernandez is now firmly defending Tech 3 and KTM.

I made it clear in July that we have nothing to sell. We don’t want to get a penalty from another team. We want to continue working with our drivers normally. ,” said Beirer via Speedweek, Thursday (4/11/2021).

Beirer also responded to this Fernandez-Yamaha rumor with a joke. He believes the mass media in the world of motorcycle racing is currently confused. Because, in 2022, KTM will tie three ‘Fernandez’, namely Raul Fernandez, Augusto Fernandez, and Adrian Fernandez. In fact, they are approaching Ruben Fernandez in the MXGP event.

More Turn the Fate of Raul Fernandez’s younger brother
“I think there is confusion, because we are also negotiating with Ruben Fernandez, who is currently riding a Honda in MXGP.

This German man admits that he is more concerned about the fate of Adrian Fernandez, who will be kicked out of the Sterilgarda Max Racing Team next season. In the meantime, Adrian will be placed on the BOE Owlride in the first six Moto3 2022 series, while the team waits for the Red Bull Rookies Cup runner up, David Munoz, to turn 16.

But right now there is no team that we can directly control and give him a guarantee for a full season. However, Adrian can participate in six races with BOE Owlride until David is 16 years old. Adrian can show his talent. So, at the moment we are more busy looking for a place for Adrian than worrying about Raul,” concluded Beirer.
