Liverpool -Takumi Minamino has officially left Liverpool for AS Monaco . Jurgen Klopp insists the Japanese star is leaving a legacy for the Reds .

Minamino was announced as a new Monaco player, Tuesday (28/6/2022). The 27-year-old midfielder has a four-year contract with The Monegasques .

The announcement also ends speculation over Minamino’s future at Liverpool. The former Red Bull Salzburg player was previously reported to have withdrawn from Anfield due to lack of playing time.

Takumi Minamino has made 55 appearances with 14 goals for Liverpool since joining at the start of 2020. He has only started once in 11 Premier League games in 2021/2022.

Minamino successfully presented three trophies during his service at Liverpool, namely the English League, English League Cup and FA Cup. Minamino played a big role in the success of the Reds’ two domestic titles through his crucial goals.

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp , regrets the departure of Minamino from Liverpool. He insisted Minamino left not as a failure, but as a winner.

“I’m sure there will be people who think they are a failure. Those who think that are wrong.

He makes us better every day he is with us – not only in the games he plays but every session in training. Perfect attitude, winning mentality.”

“His performances and goals are the reason why we often redecorate the Champions Wall.

“I know he will be a huge success at Monaco. I am sure we will see with a mixture of celebration and jealousy as he develops and develops there. He leaves with our honors and best wishes. Thank you, Taki,” said Juergen Klopp .
