Kicked out of the FA Cup, Arsenal can make a spicy joke: Playing like Tottenham, really terrible

Arsenal fan as well as British journalist and television presenter, Piers Morgan, made a scathing satire after the Gunners were unexpectedly kicked out of the FA Cup third round due to a 0-1 defeat by Nottingham Forrest, Monday (10/1/2022) early morning hrs.

Morgan claims Arsenal looked terrible for playing like their city rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, in the humiliating defeat.

Playing in an all-white shirt to raise awareness of knife-wielding crimes, the Gunners put on a toothless performance that infuriated Morgan, who is passionate about Arsenal.

“Can someone please tell the Arsenal players that playing in the white jersey doesn’t mean you have to play as bad as the Spurs,” Morgan quipped via his Twitter account in the middle of the match.

Piers Morgan’s joke continued after the game was over. “Playing like Totteham. Playing like Tottenham. Terrible performance,” he added.

Lewis Grabban’s lone goal ensured Nottingham Forest bagged a surprising victory and qualified for the fourth round of the FA Cup. Instead, defending champions Arsenal were forced out of the world’s oldest football tournament.

Mikel Arteta admits Arsenal are losing quality
The Gunners manager, Mikel Arteta, admitted his team lost quality to Nottingham.

Undergoing a match at The City Ground, Monday (10/1/2022) early morning WIB, Arsenal appeared limping. It was recorded that there were nine Gunners players who had to be absent, ranging from injury, illness, card accumulation, to strengthening the country in the 2021 African Cup of Nations.

Currently, there are four London Cannon Team players appearing in the Africa Cup of Nations, namely Mohamed Elneny, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Thomas Partey, and Nicolas Pepe.

Losing a number of important pillars made it difficult for Arsenal to penetrate the tight rearguard of Nottingham Forest. Based on statistics recorded by ESPN , the Gunners fired 10 shots without any of them going on goal.

On the other hand, Nottingham had three good chances out of seven. Without a single chance to score, the London Cannon Team finally lost to Nottingham Forest with a score of 0-1.

Nottingham’s single goal against Arsenal was created by Lewis Grabban in the 83rd minute.

Bad Record
This minor result made the Gunners failed to qualify for the fourth round of the FA Cup. For Arsenal, this is the second time they have lost in the third round of the FA Cup in 26 years.

“We didn’t have enough quality to penetrate in the right areas,” explained Arteta

When that happens, it’s difficult to score goals.”
