Italian League: Lack of contribution, Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner will not be sacked by Chelsea

Since joining Chelsea , Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner have struggled to show their best performance. Although Ziyech and Werner have minimal contributions, the Blues will not let them go in January 2022.

Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner were brought by Chelsea in the 2020 summer transfer market. Ziyech was signed by the London Blue Team from Ajax Amsterdam, while Werner was redeemed from RB Leipzig.

The presence of these two names is expected to increase Chelsea’s pounding power. But in reality, Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner were not able to have a positive impact on the Blues’ game.

Last season, Ziyech was only able to score six goals and four assists in 39 matches in all competitions. Werner, on the other hand, has 12 goals and 15 assists from 52 matches in the 2020/2021 season.

Entering this season, Hakim Ziyech has only collected three goals and four assists from 18 matches. Meanwhile, Timo Werner has scored five goals and provided two assists in 14 matches.

The lack of good performance of the two players with Chelsea could not be separated from the storm of injuries that hit. In addition, Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner also struggled to adapt to the style of play in England.

Targeted by Borussia Dortmund
This situation makes Chelsea touted to be releasing Ziyech and Werner in the winter transfer market next year. A number of clubs are reportedly interested in accommodating the two players, one of which is Borussia Dortmund.

Die Borussen want to propose to Ziyech and Werner in January 2022. With the addition of these two names, it is hoped that Dortmund will boost the performance of Dortmund in the second half of this season.

Moreover, Borussia Dortmund is still competing to win the Bundesliga, Europa League, and also the 2021/2022 DFB Pokal trophies.

Will not be released
However, Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, reported the Evening Standard had no interest in removing the two players in January next year. Tuchel still needs the services of Ziyech and Werner in the title race.

Even so, the German manager will still consider the future of the two until this summer. If they don’t show their best performances, Chelsea will sell Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner at the start of next season.

Later, the proceeds from the sale of the two players will be used to buy new players in the summer of 2022.
