In the manga series Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, fans have often tried to guess and find out what really happened to the future situation in Konoha. As geeks know, at the beginning of the series it was shown how Kawaki and adult Boruto fought each other. Konoha itself is shown to have been crushed and razed to the ground.
In that moment, many fans themselves assumed that Kawaki was the one who had destroyed Konoha and also the person who had killed Naruto. Seeing how Kawaki was before, when he was under Isshiki and Kara’s control, the future events might seem plausible.
However, in reality now Kawaki had changed. Kawaki not only managed to change for the better, but also he is now considered as his own child by Naruto. Kawaki even considered Naruto as a father figure who had never existed in his life. On the other hand, his relationship with Boruto is like that of a brother.
So, what then triggered the fight between Kawaki and Boruto that made Konoha fall apart? Maybe this has something to do with the Otsutsuki in Boruto’s body, in other words the fight was caused by the figure of Momoshiki Otsutsuki. How then did Momoshiki become the trigger for this?
As presented in the previous chapter, Momoshiki said that the Otsutsukification process of Boruto’s figure had reached 82% and he was forced to use the rest of the process to revive Boruto’s figure who had been seriously injured due to being attacked by Kawaki. Momoshiki said that although the Otsutsukification process had stopped, but because it was already above 80%, Boruto had officially become the new Otsutsuki figure.
In addition, Momoshiki also said that because the Otsutsukification process was stopped, he would not be able to reincarnate in Boruto’s body either. However, there is a speculation among fans where it is said that what Momoshiki said could be a lie. Momoshiki may not be able to reincarnate in Boruto’s body, but he can still control Boruto.
Boruto himself said in chapter 68 yesterday that he was able to control Momoshiki’s Karma power better. That is, it is possible that Momoshiki will return and will be able to control Boruto regardless of Boruto now being able to control the power of Karma better. On the other hand, in chapter 67 it is not mentioned that Momoshiki died.
All he said was that he could no longer reincarnate in Boruto’s body, but that didn’t mean he was dead. Technically, it means that Momoshiki is still in Boruto’s body which opens up opportunities for Momoshiki to return and will be able to control Boruto. And this could be what might then trigger the fight between Kawaki and Boruto in the future, which will destroy all of Konoha.
The possible scenario that occurred at that moment was Boruto, who was controlled by Momoshiki, managed to destroy all existing areas including Konoha. Kawaki himself is trying to stop what Boruto is doing, because he is willing to do whatever it takes to protect Naruto and Konoha – including facing his own “brother” Boruto. If this was indeed the case, of course, it would be a great irony. Let’s just wait for the continuation of the story in the next chapter, geeks!
