On Friday (12/24), Jung Ilhoon, a former BTOB member, uploaded a post to Instagram to discuss the results of his trial last week, where he was convicted of violating the Narcotics Control Act.
In his first post after more than a year, Ilhoon apologized profusely for using marijuana illegally. He also thanked fans who had been patiently waiting for him. Here’s Ilhoon’s full statement:
He began, “Hello, this is Jung Il Hoon. Over the past few years, during my investigation and trial period, as well as when I was imprisoned, I was able to look back on my life while contemplating it painfully, down to my bones.”
He continued, “I’m very sorry to have to apologize so late to those who have given me love. But even though it’s so late, I’m writing this letter from the heart.”
I am truly sorry that I have caused wounds in your hearts because of my mistakes,” he added.
As much as I have caused damage to our society and as much as I have disappointed those who believed in me, I promise through this letter that I will work harder to live a righteous life and try not to hurt anyone again.”
“It was only after I caused many precious people to leave me because of my mistakes that I realized too late, how I should live and how I should change my attitude about life,” he continued.
He determined, “Once again I promise through this letter that I will take care of myself and my environment, so that I can make the right choice in any situation. And I will be very careful not to make the same mistake again.”
