Get a Bigger Offer at San Siro, AC Milan Star Cancels Moving to Rival Club?

Sports, News

Alessio Romagnoli has the opportunity to cancel a move to Lazio and stay at AC Milan, after getting a big offer from the Rossoneri camp.

AC Milan is a busy team towards the end of this season. As is known, the Rossoneri are competing with Inter Milan in the hunt for the Italian League champions.

The Rossoneri themselves are now at the top of the standings with 74 points, 2 points ahead of Inter Milan in second place, with both teams still having 4 games remaining.

Apart from that, Milan is also busy welcoming the summer transfer market. The Rossoneri have been linked with a number of names, and the other side are in danger of losing a number of stars.

Two names that are said to have a high chance of leaving the San Siro are midfielder Franck Kessie and captain and centre-back Alessio Romagnoli, both of whom expire in June 2022.

Kessie himself is widely said to have reached an agreement with the Spanish League giants, namely Barcelona. Meanwhile, Romagnoli has been widely linked with AC Milan’s rivals in the Italian League, Lazio.

However, interesting news is now coming regarding Romagnoli’s situation. According to journalist Gianluca di Marzio, as reported by Semper Milan, there is now a chance the centre-back will stay at the San Siro.

The reason is, AC Milan is known to have made a bigger offer to Romagnoli, compared to that offered by Lazio.

This situation also opens the opportunity for the centre-back to extend his tenure at the San Siro. Moreover, Romagnoli is claimed to still be happy to play for AC Milan.

This news also seems to refute the rumors circulating previously, which said that it was Lazio who made a bigger offer.

AC Milan Still Bringing New Defenders
Alesssio Romagnoli is actually an alumni of the AS Roma academy. He was brought to AC Milan from Rome in the summer of 2015.

At that time, he had just completed a loan spell at Sampdoria where he performed well, but was still not in the plans of the Giallorossi.

The centre-back immediately became a mainstay since his inaugural season at the San Siro, until finally being appointed team captain in the 2018/2019 season replacing Leonardo Bonucci.

However, since the middle of last season, he was evicted to the bench following the brilliant performances of Simon Kjaer and Fikayo Tomori.

This season, despite Kjaer’s injury and even having to miss the rest of the season, Romagnoli is still struggling to break into the starting line-up, unable to compete with Pierre Kalulu who Stefano Pioli chose to accompany Tomori.

The lack of playing time is what then makes Romagnoli reportedly want to leave. Moreover, Lazio is a fan of the club he has supported since childhood.

AC Milan itself was actually prepared to lose Romagnoli and started looking for a replacement, with Sven Botman being the strongest candidate.

However, the Rossoneri apparently did not want to lose the captain just like that by providing a bigger offer than Lazio’s offer.

However, if Romagnoli stays, it is believed that the Rossoneri will still bring Sven Botman. The reason is, Kjaer is 33 years old and his post-injury performance is still in doubt.

On the other hand, Lazio themselves must find new targets if they fail to bring in Alessio Romagnoli from AC Milan, considering they will be left by Luiz Felipe whose contract expires in June 2022.

Already in deep talks with agents, AC Milan is one step away from signing Renato Sanches
Italian League giant AC Milan is one step away from getting a Portuguese midfielder named Renato Sanches in the summer transfer market. Reporting from Italian Football, AC Milan has moved in the past few days and has agreed on a price with the club that owns Renato Sanches, namely Lille.

Reportedly, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara as representatives of the Rossoneri have agreed with Lille to bring in Renato Sanches at 20 million euros (around Rp. 306 billion). Currently, the two AC Milan officials are holding in-depth talks with Renato Sanches’ agent, Jorge Mendes to confirm the transfer of the player.

Reporting from Calciomercato, Portuguese super agent Jorge Mendes is reportedly interested in continuing the business of buying and selling Renato Sanches from Lille to Milan due to the emergence of Investcorp as the new owner.
