As is known, the French racer struggled for total speed throughout the weekend. Because the Yamaha, YZR M1, lacks power. He consistently dropped 12 kilometers per hour lap after lap.
“I’m not sure (the chances at Mandalika) because I didn’t expect a lot of people to be fast from the (Qatar) test to this weekend, so we’ll see because I think a lot of riders have made big steps and I don’t think it will be easy,” he said. Quartararo, quoted on the Motorsportweek page , Wednesday (9/3/2022).
In addition, Quartararo again complained about his motorcycle engine. He revealed there are still many problems found in the race at the Losail Circuit.
One of them is the front tire which has too low pressure, preventing Quartararo from going faster. Quartararo also described the Qatar 2022 MotoGP at the Losail Circuit, Doha, Sunday, March 6, as a disaster.
To be honest the Qatar MotoGP was a disaster, we had a good start which is a positive thing, but from the second lap we had a front tire problem and we don’t know why, said Quartararo.
The temperature was okay, it was a pressure issue because it was too high, the bike is almost impossible to ride with these numbers, but you always learn from these things. This is reality (racing), so we have to stay focused and motivated to see what we can do next.
