‘Euphoria’ Sets New Record After Last Episode of Season 2


The series became the most watched after ‘Game of Thrones’

Bend the knees! ‘Euphoria’ managed to become the second most-watched HBO series since 2004, after ‘Game of Thrones’.

The series, which features Zendaya as the main character, attracted 6.6 million viewers thanks to the final episode of the second season.

According to HBO, season 2 of ‘Euphoria’ now has an average of 16.3 million views, the best achievement for any season of any HBO series over the past 18 years, apart from ‘Game of Thrones’.

To date, the premiere of season 2 has approached 19 million viewers in the United States (US).

‘Euphoria’ was the top series on HBO Max in the US for the seventh week in a row, as well as the top series for the week in Latin America and Europe.

As Variety exclusively reported on February 1st, the average viewer per episode of ‘Euphoria’ managed to go up almost 100% from its first season, just after the first four episodes of the second season aired.

The show also reached its highest viewership when it aired in conjunction with Super Bowl LVI on February 13.

‘Euphoria’ is also now the most tweeted event on Twitter so far in the 2020s in the US with 34 million tweets.

The people involved in the tweet include several well-known celebrities such as Drake, Ella Mai, Halsey, Jack Harlow, and Kid Cudi. They all also wanted to share in the tweet about the tragedy that befell these high school students.

‘Euphoria’ season 2 centers on the lives of high school students in the town of East Highland, where 17-year-old Rue (Zendaya) must find hope while balancing the stresses of love, loss, and addiction. The final episode saw many of the season’s biggest conflicts emerge.
