Reviews Film Furious 7 (2015)

The newest installment in the Fast & Furious franchise , Furious 7, as the title suggests, is the sequel to Fast & Furious 6 . Still contains the same characters as the previous series (even the exact same, only reduced personnel who have died / Han). The main characters of this story, Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and Brian O’Conner (late Paul Walker) still dominate the storyline. The plot that is built is also still as usual, namely Dom’s group must carry out a dangerous mission involving a fast and mighty supercar , of course.

The antagonist in this film is played by Jason Statham, namely Deckard Shaw, who is the brother of Owen Shaw who is the antagonist in Fast & Furious 6. Well , one enemy against a group of heroes, doesn’t seem balanced enough, right? So, also presented two warring factions, namely the government stronghold, led by a mysterious figure named Mr. Nobody (Kurt Russell), against the Somali terrorist group led by Jakande (Djimon Hounsou). Both camps are equally ambitious to seize a sophisticated computer program called “God’s Eye”. With a setup like this, this film presents racing actions and scuffles that (according to Film Reviews) are a bit over the top ( supercars).through two skyscrapers?). There is also a policeman Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson), who sided with Dom and his friends. So, this sequel does not have anything new, apart from the action that is a bit more majestic than its predecessor films.

Of particular interest is the late Paul Walker, who died while filming this film was not finished. For viewers who don’t know he died, this film may be successful enough to give the impression that the actor is still alive and acting as usual. But for those who already know, it will feel that Paul’s role and screentime are quite limited (especially Paul Walker’s close-up scenes are rarely shown ). As a form of tribute to Paul, this film also chooses to take the ‘peaceful’ path to end Brian O’Conner’s ‘career’ in the Fast & Furious saga ( well , besides the phenomenal See You Again theme song).

Finally, Furious 7 is quite entertaining as a light spectacle (races, crashes, explosions and scantily clad sexy girls), but for those of you who are looking for action that is weighty, clever and new, this film doesn’t seem to be able to provide it. 6/10

Dominic Toretto: [remembering the time he had with Brian] I used to say I live my life a quarter mile at a time and I think that’s why we were brothers – because you did too. No matter where you are, whether it’s a quarter mile away or half way across the world, you’ll always be with me. And you’ll always be my brother.
