Eliminate PSG, Real Madrid Pursue 14th Trophy


Real Madrid advanced to the 2021/2022 Champions League quarter-finals, after ejecting PSG 3-2 on aggregate. Los Blancos won 3-1 over PSG in the second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, Thursday (10/3/2022) early morning WIB.

In this fierce match, PSG actually had the upper hand thanks to Kylian Mbappe‘s goal in the first half. However, Real Madrid showed a winning mentality by equalizing the score and even winning in the second half.

Los Blancos managed to equalize the score to 1-1 thanks to Karim Benzema’s goal utilizing a blunder by PSG goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma. Then Benzema scored an additional two goals to give Real Madrid a 3-1 win and ensure his team qualified for the quarter-finals.

This result made Real Madrid advance to the quarter-finals, following three other teams that qualified first, such as Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and Liverpool.

This result makes Real Madrid coach , Carlo Ancelotti feel very confident with the greatness of his team and open the chance to win the Champions League this season. Luka Modric et al are chasing the 14th Champions League trophy in history.

Real Madrid is currently listed as the team that has won the most Champions League titles with a total of 13 trophies. The last time they won the title was in the 2017/2018 season by beating Liverpool in the final.

Ancelotti also felt very happy with his team’s performance against PSG, especially in the second half. The Italian man also believes his team can compete with any team.

“Things have changed because we played better tonight. Luck, of course, helps,” he added.

Ancelotti also highlighted the magic factor provided by the Santiago Bernabeu atmosphere to help his team make a remarkable comeback against PSG.
