Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been officially released in theaters since early May 2022. This film is a sequel to a number of MCU projects, from Doctor Strange (2016), Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), to the WandaVision series. . This is because the Multiverse of Madness also features the figure of Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch who is the main character of the WandaVision series.

The conflict in the Multiverse of Madness is also fairly closely related to the WandaVision series. That’s why, some time ago Kevin Feige as president of Marvel Studios said that people must watch WandaVision first before watching Doctor Strange 2. Interestingly, Sam Raimi as the director of Multiverse of Madness has not actually watched WandaVision.

This was revealed by Sam Raimi in an interview with Rolling Stone. Raimi said that he didn’t watch WandaVision in its entirety, but only watched a few key points from the series. Because, Marvel did ask him to follow a number of story points from WandaVision because it would be related to the Doctor Strange 2 movie script that he was working on at that time.

“Therefore, we had to really study what WandaVision was doing, so that we could have the right outline of the story and the dynamics of character development. I’ve never even seen the WandaVision series; I only saw important moments from some of the episodes that I told directly influenced our storyline,” said Raimi.
