Disney had to spend up to USD 133 million to realize their latest fantasy film

Initially, Disney hired director Lasse Hallström to make The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. The shooting process itself began in October 2016. However, because there were some scenes that were considered unsatisfactory, Disney then decided to reshoot.

However, by the time Disney decided to reshoot The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, Lasse Hallström was already tied up with another project. Disney then appointed director Joe Johnston to reshoot in December 2017. Which, in the end, lasted 32 days.

However, even so, in the credit title The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, Lasse Hallström’s name is still listed as a director along with Joe Johnston. The same goes for the screenwriter. Names Asleigh Powell and Simon Beaufoy side by side with Tom McCarthy. Who wrote the script for the re-shoot.

However, even so, unfortunately, all the efforts and funds that have been spent by Disney, it seems, have not paid off. After premiering at the Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles on Monday (29/10), The Nutcracker and the Four Realms received a negative response from critics. They consider the story of this 99-minute fantasy film to be soulless. Incoherent. And easy to forget.

However, even so, the visual effects of The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, which are pleasing to the eye, get a lot of praise. The costume design and the setting where the story takes place in this film are indeed thick with the feel of a magical and charming fairy tale. Perhaps, many viewers are reminded of the film Alice in Wonderland (2010). The one drenched in glitter and so colorful.

Last September, we were entertained by a unique story of friendship between prehistoric humans and wolves. In the movie Alpha (2018). Which is very heart touching.

This October, the moviemania again was treated to a story of friendship: Between humans and robot dogs. In AXL movies. Which is already showing in Cinema XXI Indonesia cinemas starting last Tuesday (9/10).

The main character in this AXL film is an abominable boy named Miles Hill (Alex Neustaedter). Which, it is said, likes to do dangerous stunts with his motorbike. However, his life then changes after finding a robot wreck. Dog shaped. The one named AXL (Fred Tatasciore).

Initially, it was said, AXL was a secret military project that was considered a failure. However, even so, the robot dog is equipped with advanced technology and artificial intelligence. aka Artificial Intelligence (AI). Which allows him to show emotions like a real dog.

Therefore, it didn’t take long for Miles and AXL to interact. After getting to know each other, the two soon became friends. In fact, the initial goal of the military to create the robot dog was as a weapon. Not a human friend.

However, unfortunately, after finding out that their “dog” was not damaged, the military then tried to take it back. Of course, Miles didn’t want to give up his new best friend just like that. Together with his girlfriend, Sara Reyes (Becky G), he tries to protect AXL from the pursuit of its creator.
